I advertise my wedding photography style as being natural and informal and weddings don't come much more informal than Odette and Matt's relaxed affair at Weston Equestrian Centre in Norfolk. Odette teaches horse riding and has her own horse stabled at Weston so a wedding day there with their friends and families seemed a natural choice for the couple.
They chose to keep things very relaxed so there were hay bales for guests to sit on, hand-made wooden pagodas with flowers draped around them (along with the odd horseshoe!) and a bouncy castle for the a̶d̶u̶l̶t̶s̶ kids. The weather on the day was beautiful so the ceremony took place outside. Odette rode into the ceremony space on her trusty steed, led by her Dad. After the ceremony, the party began in earnest and the hog roast was fired up.
Early in the evening, I took Odette and Matt away across the farm for some informal relaxed and romantic portraits. The low sun by then was gorgeous and made for some fantastic opportunities with which to light the couple. Summer evenings are a great time to take photographs as the sunlight is less harsh and contrast is low. I usually hold my engagement shoots with couples in the early summer evenings for just these reasons.
A few weeks after the wedding, Odette and Matt's wedding was featured in Marry In Norfolk magazine and you can see the feature they put together at the end of this post.
